During the month of November “states, communities, public and private organizations, businesses, families, and individuals celebrate adoption as a positive way to build families”. As November comes to a close, and we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving with our families, there are still a number of ways that we can continue to celebrate adoption throughout the year.
Ideas to Celebrate Adoption:
*Dine at a restaurant or cook a meal that relates to your child’s heritage.
*Read a book about adoption at your child’s school.
*Donate a book to your local library.
*Volunteer to help your local adoption support group.
*Mentor a family in the process of adopting.
*Light a Candle for your child’s Birthparents.
*Make an orphanage donation.
*Donate baby items to crisis pregnancy center.
*Start a journal about your adoption process, or write down your child’s story.
*Get Involved- Research pending adoption legislature.
