The time I jokingly told my son, he was squealing like a girl, I immediately realized my mistake. I back-peddled and said no, that's insulting to girls, you squeal like a pig (sorry pig lovers). The "phrase "like a girl" was something I had never given much thought too, but as a Mom of a son and daughter I realized the significance of what I had said. I didn't want to be guilty of adding injury to insult. Besides that, I think being a girl is pretty awesome.
